Life : Voting

Posted by Compubomb On Oct 30, 2004 @ 9:46 pm | Visited ( 307 )

Looks like this is going to be the first year that i actually get to vote on a presidential election. I am going to vote for Soon to be President John F Kerry. Hopefully my vote does not go in vain. I do have a lot of information which i have read up on both sides and Bush only seems to do what is best for Big Business. I'm for the little guy.

Ranting : More School

All is well to some degree as i always seem to be so full of anxiety that i have problems doing homework lately. Recently I have been able to get back onto a proper sleeping pattern which now allows me to get sleep before i goto class. Every time i seem to feel that i'm doing poorly lately i seem to actually surprise myself.. It's like when i take a test and finish the test i feel like shit and then suddenly next class i come back and get my test and find out that i actually did well. Unfortunately this pattern only seems to validate itself in math class only. If only it were true in chemistry or other courses..

On another note, my father seems to have found out about a new business in which you can make a lot of money. It's called currency trading. Essentially this particular program builds income based off a principle amount, that being x dollars plus 2 percent of your principle every day, essentially, you can double your money 2 months so it's extremely lucurative. So my plans are to invest in it myself.

Ranting : The Excitement

Let see here, the last couple of days have been somewhat melancholy; starting with yesterday. I woke up yesterday at approximately 10pm because I always promptly gaze at my ever so annoying alarm because I always seem to set the time I want to wake up but officially just ignore it when nothing special is happening. Last night I woke up at 10pm and I'm still up and it's 11:23PM the next day go-figure. So now I've been up an extremely long time and today in math class I was ready to fall asleep during my math test. Not only that when people spoke to me I was noticeably latent on replying due to the mental exhaustion I've forced myself to endure. So now I'm getting ready to go to sleep and only now do I start to worry how long I will sleep avoiding the ever present consequence of being too tired or sleeping in too late to patch up my shoddy report that I did on Equality Feminism vs. Difference Feminism in which I received a warranted letter grade of a "C" which I was definitely not happy with but accepted it as a token of my own laziness due to lack of sleep and inability to focus for longer than 10 minutes. I think I've figured out the key to success in life. It's called you find the quickest way out of your family circle before they pull you in before you've had your first child. By the time your ready to leave home your parents are already falling apart due to a poor gene pool; maybe not in the realm of Intelligence but, definitely in the realm of non-recessive genes in terms of poor immunity towards diseases being diabetes and mental illness. Isn't life grand?

Ranting : Anxiety & New Inspiration

Posted by Compubomb On Oct 15, 2004 @ 12:02 pm | Visited ( 219 )

Okay, so today I'm in class getting all anxious about my last chemistry test and suddenly the professor hands me the test and I actually did somewhat decent.. I scored a 86 on the test which was more than I was expecting. I find now that if I set my expectations much lower than normal my scores seem to actually feel decent. When I set my expectations too high I'm always disappointed in myself because I normally don't score great on tests..

Anyways, enough with the ranting [hehe]

I was thinking about redoing my current content management system completely in PHP5 along with possibly implementing some kind of plug-in system as to allow myself to just add stuff to the site. I'm still thinking about weather or not I actually want to implement smarty as my template system. What I really don't like about smarty template system is how bloated the whole code base is. I know that it's pretty in depth system that does many "template oriented tasks for designers" but I'm normally not concerned with the design but rather the code. I normally spend a much greater amount of time on my code than anything else..

Ponderance : Discovery Science Channel

I just finished watching a whole series of shows on DSC all about the X-Prize. I was completely and utterly amazed on how such a group could have ever accomplished such a task / goal. In the beginning right from the start the primary designer of the space craft used unorthidox methodologies to test the arrowdynamic stability of his space craft. If anyone has ever watched the history of the Wright Brothers you will have also learned they also used unorthedox ideologies in testing out their final results. All i can say is Job well done. Oh.. on a second note, if i don't major in computer science i think i'll atleast have learn how to cook as a chef because boy do i love food :)

Ponderance : 2nd Debate

Posted by Compubomb On Oct 11, 2004 @ 1:06 pm | Visited ( 222 )

The other day I finished watching the debates between John F. Kerry & Bush Jr. and this lady asked a question directed at Kerry as to how he would handle abortion laws. What really impressed me is the fact that he is a religious person himself but he is not going to allow his own personal believes to interfere with the constitutional right that all women are afforded to decide whether or not they are going to terminate a pregnancy. To me this implies that Kerry is a very objective individual compared to our so-called current president who reminds me more of a primate than a human being.

Read this in a channel i hang out in on Freenode in #TML from this guy i know Davey

A kid comes home from school and says to his mom, "mom,I've got a problem." She says, "Tell me." He tells her that the boys at school are using two words he doesn't understand. She asks him what they are. He tells her "well, pussy and bitch." She says, "Oh,that's no big deal, pussy is a cat like our little Mittens, and bitch is a female dog like our Sandy." He thanks her and goes to visit dad in the workshop in the basement. He says to his dad, "Dad the boys at school are using words I don't know and I asked mom and I don't think she told me the exact meaning." Dad says, "Son, I told you never to go to mom with these matters, she can't handle them. What are the words?" He tells him, pussy and bitch. Dad says, "OK," and pulls a Playboy down from the shelf, takes a marker and circles the pubic area of the centerfold and says, "son, everything inside this circle is pussy." "OK, dad, so what's a bitch?" "Son," he says, "everything outside that circle."
