Ranting : Me and Linux get along now

Well, it's now been officially concluded that i know more about linux than i previously thought. The other day i pretty much helped out one of my buddies who was in trouble with his 250 gig harddrive, pop in his linux drive into a foreign system. He seems to be doing okay.

What i find to be sort of amusing is that many people i know have in the paste laughed at me for running mandrake because it's not the so-called guru de-facto linux distro. Well i no longer give 2 cents to the thought of running mandrake because it does everything i want it to do, the other day i heard someone in the irc channel i hang out in on irc.freenode.net #gah say something to this effect, "every one has their own favorite distro and it can be compared to their girlfriend, she's the best" or as my good friend Ajay says "opinions are like assholes, everyone has one". I'm no longer subject to my own guilt running mandrake :P

Well, looks like again, i've lost a contract from someone who wasn't exactly straight up with me, in terms of contract (issues). So basically, this would be my 5th contract which i have lost due to issues where the client either didn't know what they wanted, or they didn't have a properly written contract. It is as though i'm going to have to compile my own contract, and give it to who ever my clients are. Most people / companies who want things done, normally don't know what they are doing, my case was an exception this time for we spoke alot more about the contract that i've ever done in the past. I was going to build a taekwondo community consisting of 3 sites. 100% all php/mysql. Oh well, atleast i didn't lose that much time on it, nor did i lose any sleep in the process.
